Yuzuki Akatonbo

Character Name: Yuzuki Akatonbo (gentle moon, red dragonfly)

Character Looks: With dusky skin and charcoal eyes, Yuzuki wears her ash blonde hair in thick dread locks with heavy silver rings and cuffs in it. She wears the traditional black hakama with a sleeveless captain's haori closed at the top near her collar bone and open to her navel when it is pined under her under her obi. Instead of the regular sandals she uses tabi boots. Yuzuki has wide silver bracelets and a tattoo of a wheel of fire on her back.

Personality: A usually calm person, Yuzuki rarely raises her voice or partakes in frivolous activities. But in the presence of a brawl, catfight, life or death struggle, or even just a heated argument, she becomes excitable, bloodthirsty, and just a liiiiittle bit psychotic. She is a lover of fine plum wines and cheap action flicks (zombie ones are good too.) She tries to keep a good relationship with her squad and other shinigami to help prevent her little "outbursts." Yuzuki prefers physical attacks to kido or hado because she never paid attention in those classes.


Zanpakuto Information:

Unreleased looks: Resembles two plain wakizashi, they stay in a double-ended sheath tied horizontally at the waist.

Shikai:

Shikai Name: Go Ka Kindachi (Hell Fire Kings)

Chant: Turn all to ashes, Go Ka Kindachi.

Shikai Looks: A set of bladed tonfa. The blade protrudes past her elbow by a foot and a half and her fist by six inches. It has a sharply curved blade on the opposite side of the handle.

Shikai Abilities:

Senpo Ko En (whirlwind of red fire) When Yuzuki runs in a perfect circle around her target, it creates a wind tunnel effect pinning in the target and then all it takes is a little spark from her zanpakuto to turn it into a hellish whirlwind of fire.

Okosu Dzuki Ashi (light a fire under foot) A rapid gathering of reishi that greatly increases Yuzuki's speed. A side affect is that it literary does light her feet on fire.

Sho Idan (fire bomb) Yuzuki places the symbol for fire (火) on a nonliving surface and when she gives the command, BOOM!!! She can only place 3 at the same time and must remain within 50 ft of it to detonate.

Bankai Abilities:

Okuribi (funeral fire) Yuzuki impales her target and surges what feels like liquid fire into their veins till they burst into fire. The burns vary from moderate to severe depending on the targets strength and how long the target is impaled.

Hinoko Oni (demon sparks) Small balls of black fire are slung off of her blades.

Fujin Anadori (woman scorned) "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Yuzuki's ultimate attack. Much like an overdrive in Final Fantasy games, the more damage she takes the closer to being able to use this attack she becomes. When Yuzuki reaches her pain limit it forces her into a berserker-like state where her speed and strength multiple and great black flames engulf her.


Abilities:

Master of Shunpo and Hohō (hand-to-hand fighting.)

Kido:
9. Geki (Strike) — Engulfs a target in red light, completely paralyzing them.
Incantation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!"

61. Rikujōkōrō (Six Rods Prison of Light) — Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place.
Incantation: "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!"

Hadō

31. Shakkahō (Shot of Red Fire) — Fires a ball of red energy at a target.
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!"

33. Sōkatsui (Blue Fire, Crash Down) — Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to 31, but over a wider area and with more power.
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws."

58. Tenran ( Orchid Sky) - A widening tornado-like blast is fired towards the target.

63. Sōren Sōkatsui (Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down) — Essentially a doubled version of #33, this spell fires two shots of blue fire with greater potency than the single-shot variety.
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens."


Biography:

A youth of questionable style, Yuzuki can't remember a time before her endless brawls in Rukongai. She was know to be calm and laid back, then turning around and beating the living..err not so living daylights out of a street punk. After a particularly brutal fight, the captain of 11th squad picked her up to be his "special project" and threw her into the academy. There she excelled in Zanjutsu, Hohō, Hakuda, and achieved Shikai, though she slept through her Kido and Hado classes from shear boredom.

After her graduation from the academy, Yuzuki became the replacement for the recently deceased lieutenant of squad 11 serving under the same captain who had taken her in. Years later during a hollow hunting escapade, two of Yuzuki's subordinates and herself were surrounded by forty low level hollows and no help coming. With her companions down and out, Yuzuki raises hell literally when she brings out her bankai, O Gokusotsu (King of Hell's Demons), for the first time. In pain and out energy our intrepid heroine managed to get back to the Seireitei with her subordinates and lived happily ever after, the end. Well, till her captain died in combat, she was forced into the captain's exam, and placed in a highly stressful position she never asked for, nor wanted.

With the weight of her men's lives on her shoulders, she has become a calmer individual though she still hates paperwork. This added responsibility hasn't stopped her from using her captain privileges to go to the world of the living and eat fast food and go to movie theaters, though she usually brings back souvenirs for her unit. But through all of her distractions and responsibilities, all Yuzuki really wants is a damn good fight.
