Hiei was strolling around Soul Society enjoying the warmth. He liked walking around the little known parts of Soul Society. Walking into a clearing Hiei feels a strong spiritual pressure to the northwest of his current position. "This looks like a good day for a fight." Hiei then shunpo to appear on a tree branch near someone he sees. "Yo." Hiei says with a wave of his hand.

Rai sensed the reiatsu of the vaizard the moment he arrived. However he doubted any of the other captains noticed it due to the fact that it was suppressed quiet well. but the unmistakable traces of a hollows reiatsu was unmistakable. He headed over to investigate the intruder thinking that to go on a full scale alert for one vaizard would be overkill. The air shuddered as he rushed forward to the location. He hoped this vaizard would put up a good fight. His zanpakuto whined in the back of his head begging to be released completely. Rai felt hte reiatsu move to a nearby tree. He followed immediatly . The intruder gave him a casual greeting. Rai greeted with a nod of acknowledgment.

"Vaizard what is you business here and if it is only for the purpose of destruction you will be arrested."

"Ah I should have known...a captain." Hiei said as he analyzed the tall figure before him. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hiei, nice to meet you. And as for my purpose here...well I was enjoying a stroll in the woods, but I felt your reiatsu and thought to myself its a beautiful day to fight. Do you think so?" A captain this is gonna be a fight. Hiei thought as he trembled in anticipation. Shifting his zanpakuto Hiei ignored the hollow in him and made sure he had firm control. "So what do you say?" Hiei grinned.

Rai was a bit taken a back. This vaizard was just here for a fight no destruction or revenge just to have a good fight, and Rai had to admit to himself that he was in dire need of some stress relief. His squad has been swamped with work and he hasn't really gotten the time to relax.

"Vaizard prepare yourself for I am taking you up on your offer."

The without warning Rai attacked,drawing his zanpakuto with such speed that the shadow particles from his sheaths didn't even have time to form armor on his arms. They dragged behind his arms like a black mist if the vaizard didn't move out of the way immediately he would become a kebab.

Grinning in anticipation Hiei was excited at the captain's words. Impressed by the captain's speed and wary of the unknown black mist near the captain Hiei shunpoed drawing his zanpakuto at the captain's left side. A loud clanging sound resonated around them as their zanpakuto's met. With their zanpakuto's grinding and sliding against each other Hiei could feel the captain's impressive power.

"Doesn't it just feel good to just kick back and have a good fight?" Hiei asked as he pushed away landing a few feet away.

"Why don't you tell me your name captain before we start this?" Hiei says as he gets into a defensive position. Smiling as he felt pure joy.

Rai spun around so that he could face Hiei. A menacing grin now on his face his passive nature turned firery by the sudden rush of adrenalin. The shadow particles now had enough time to settle and form the black scale like armor plates on his arms covering them completely.

"My name is Rai Keskei Captain of squad 9 of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. So vaizard lets start this but first things first you will not be running.

Bakudo 89 Flame Circle."

As Rai spoke the spell a ring of black fire appeared around them the circle having a diameter of about 50 meters. The thing he loved about this spell was that is was impossible to cross the border for any who tried would be instantly incinerated.

"Don't try to cross those flames for no matter how high or fast you try to get over you will die."

Rai spun his zanpakuto in a flourishing manner and took his attack stance and attacked his black reiatsu seeping out from him in like a mirage of heat waves. Rai Slashed at Hiei as he approached. Pure madness emanating from his menacing smile

After the captain introduced himself and while he created the black ring of fire Hiei brought his zanpakuto to his face and brushed down each side of his cheek.

"Pray for mercy.." Hiei whispered.

He noted the level of the spell and had his caution rewarded with the captain's warning.

"I wonder if Ame-no-nuboko can put it out..We may see." Hiei thought


Smiling Hiei readied his zanpakuto and pointed with his left hand aiming at the captain's chest.

"Bakudo 4 Byakura (White lightning)." Hiei muttered. A concentrated powerful bolt of lightning shot from his finger towards the captain Rai as he charged.

Rai saw the spell fire at him the lightning sizzling as it raced through the air. Rai shunpo'd out of the way appearing behind Hiei. He analyzed him for a few milliseconds. Recording him to memory. Becuase later he would have to write a profile about him.

"Not bad, but when using kido make sure you don't miss. Hado 45 Hornets Nest."

As the spell was cast the air around Hiei began to buzz as small hair thin needles of energy began to form around him. When the last one formed they all shot at Hiei from every direction. Rai then shifted his stance and attacked once again slashing in an X at Hiei's back. His swords humming as it cut through the air.

Hiei used utsusemi to get away the back of his shirt and skin getting grazed as the captain attack with lightning speed block the needles that where in his path of escape. Arriving next to the captain Hiei used his sword to grind against Rai's. Smiling Hiei complimented the captain's skill.
"Nice work. Impressive...so your not just someone who gains his seat of power from politics and riding on the back of a famous name. Thats good. Thats very good." Hiei said as he pushed against their sword.

This guy is good Rai thought to himself. but he made one crucial mistake he came to close. Lets see how good he does against this. Rai As a rule didn't release his zanpakuto when they aren't connect but he decided it would catch the vaizard off guard.

"Todoroke! Kari Tori Ryuu"(Roar! Reaper Dragon)

His zanpakuto changed to scythes of equal length. They seemed to say on their own I am a weapon of death and I am created to decapitate

"Vaizard lets see how you deal with an attack that you cannot see! Shattered Silence!"

His zanpakuto began to resonate. The sound escalating to slightly over a 150 decibels. This attack would render the vaizard deaf if he didn't move at least twenty meters away.

An intense amount of pain struck Hiei, his eyes widening in surprise. Reeling back pushing himself away Hiei tried to get away from the ear splitting sound that was tearing at his brain. He had to leap back two more times before the racket stopped. What was that? My...left ear..
A trickle of blood came out of hs ear. After the initial shock wore off Hiei smiled. I was right this is gonna be a FIGHT

"That was real sneaky Captain Keskei." Hiei said as he admired the Captain's shikai. "I'll have to hand it to you...you sure do make a great sparring partner."

Gripping his zanpakuto firmly and digging his heels into the ground Hiei muttered

"Shatter them.... Ame-no-nuboko."

Spinning a spear with a twisted point around him Hiei smiled "Well as they always say if your eyes and ears fail you, you can always follow your nose."

Bringing the moisture in the ground rise to the top Hiei created mud applying it to the inside of his ears then freezing it slightly to harden the mud inside his ears.

Smiling he shunpo'd right above Captain Keskei bringing his spear straight down.

Rai was slightly disappointed that he vaizard made himself a pair of ear plugs no he would be able to use a shikai ability. He had to admit that the vaizards release form was quite impressive and it showed an ability to manipulate both water and ice. The name of the zanpakuto triggered a a memory to come back and with that Rai knew exactly who the vaizard was, for while he was fighting he was sifting through the records in his mind and the name of the zanpakuto was the trigger for each zanpakuto was exclusive(with the exception of a few) unlike names. Rai saw Hiei jump up and dive down towards him with his spear. Rai evaded it appearing several meters behind him. Thinking to himself how that was one of his favorite was of attacking when not released so he naturally knew the best way to doge.

"Hiei Barzod ,I remember you now, you were striving to become a captain I presume you were training quite hard too. Why did you leave under circumstances vaizards are allowed to be part of the Gotei 13. Look at the Captain of Squad Zero he is even a vaizard. Any way enough talking on my part lets continue the fight."

Rai shunpo'd forward leaving just enough room for him to cut wit hhis scythes he then released his attack cutting the air with both scythes at the same time making two attacks out of the usual one.

"Dragons Cry!"

The black shock waves shot forward at point blank range.

A great explosion shook the ground. Hiei was standing his arms trembling and slightly giving off smoke. He had spun his zanpakuto in a circle in front of him to try and lessen the blow still it was an impressive move and Hiei was standing in the middle of a crater, his head bowed down.

Still in the same stance Hiei answered "Because, the most important part of my life was MURDERED."

Hiei said that word with as much hate as he could muster.

"I want to know who killed my love...my life...I want to know who it is...i want to know why...be it hollow, bount, arrancar, shinigami, or anything in between i want to look down on their corpse and smile. I want to know why Soul Society didn't do anything about it, why they were reluctant to tell me anything. So i decided that maybe one day I'll take it by force. Not many people know what its like to lose the one person who is most precious to them. Not many people know what it's like to be alone and know that their murderer is out there. I know what she'd want me to do which is why I've yet to harm anyone in Soul Society. But I want to know what happened....Till then I don't if I can trust the Gotei 13. I worked HARD to be one of them for her and for the good of all people...but I cant trust them till I understand why..."

Hiei picked up his head and for once the happy-go-lucky smile was gone and replaced by a person who had gone through decades of saddness. His pitch black eyes were miserable.

"Besides I've no one to voutch for me to the Gotei 13." Hiei said shifting his spear.

".........thank you......for that I'll give you a warning and because I do not wish to harm a member of the Gotei 13. Hard as it may be don't get too close to Ame-no-nuboko you will freeze if you feel the air of her...if that does happen slowly slowly thaw whatever part of you is frozen. If you do it too fast Ame-no-nuboko's power will have that body part melt with it too. Now then where were we? "

Hiei leaped towards Rai bringing down Ame-no-nuboko into the ground and destroying it with a shock wave of 10 meters."
